By Cory Thompson – Local Business Executive in the Oil & Gas Industry

We live in a time when nearly everything is global—business, news, culture, and even friendships stretch across borders thanks to technology. But while I embrace innovation and forward thinking, I’ve come to value something just as important: staying connected to where you come from.

As Cory Thompson, I’ve had the chance to grow professionally and personally in a number of environments, but no place has shaped me more than Fruita and Grand Junction, Colorado. These communities are more than my home—they’re the foundation of my values, work ethic, and leadership style.

Being based in Fruita has allowed me to approach challenges with a grounded mindset. There’s a certain clarity that comes with being surrounded by a community that knows your name and supports your success. I’ve seen firsthand how much strength small towns carry—through their people, their resilience, and their shared purpose.

At the same time, as Cory Thompson of Grand Junction, I’ve had the privilege of working across broader markets and industries, particularly in the oil and gas sector. Those experiences have opened my eyes to new ideas and global trends. But no matter where business takes me, I always return to the core lessons learned right here in western Colorado: lead with honesty, treat people with respect, and never forget the power of showing up for others.

The goal of CoryThompsonFruita.com is to bridge those two worlds—the grounded local perspective of a small-town community with the curiosity and drive that comes from engaging with a bigger picture. I want to use this space to share insights, support local stories, and encourage others to stay rooted while reaching forward.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a student, a neighbor, or someone just looking for motivation—my hope is that what you find here reflects the best of both Fruita and Grand Junction.

Let’s keep the conversations going, and continue building something meaningful—right where we are.
